I agree with the fact that we should be passionate about what we do for work.  If not, then that’s okay, but we eventually want to grow into doing work we are passionate about.  I do believe that work is the best way we carry out our passion and mission but I’ll stay on the topic of passion.

Up until recently, I always got frustrated because I couldn’t find my passion.  I mistakenly thought my passion should be earthly like in a hobby or something tangible I can monetize.  Shortly after becoming a Christian, I felt my desire for worldly things just dissolve, feeling that nothing earthly would satisfy me.

It’s perfectly fine to have a hobby you are passionate about and monetize it.  It took me up until recently to realize what my passion was and is not in any hobby, sport, or possession.  My passion is to share information in a clear way that will better other people’s lives and point them to Christ.

The point here is this; you don’t need to have a burning desire for anything earthly to have a passion.  Jesus tells us that the two greatest commands are to love God with everything we are and to love others like ourselves.  Our passion, whether it is an earthly interest (which can be God given and God can use) or just a specific way to help people, should be what our work is centered around.

I want to leave this post here and hope it encourages and brings clarity.

Awesome, bro! I can relate. Let our work and everything that we do be for the glory of God. Continue cultivating that passion that God has given you!
