In America, I see too much emphasis on who we vote for rather than what we vote for. There is so much noise surrounding elections that it is too easy to get caught up in the hype. But this is exactly what blinds us.

I feel very drawn to the fact that there is so much going on behind the scenes that we can’t see. Not with the politicians and those in office per say, but with the issues that we want changed. Whether its economic policies, geopolitical strategies, or social issues, there is always something driving these factors that politicians say they will change but do not.

This post is not meant to be a criticism towards anyone in office, but the point I want to make is that the politicians don’t fix issues because they can’t. They certainly have influence and have God-given authority, but the real catalyst of change is the people who are governed. Voting is a powerful way to change things, but voting alone is not enough.

The people are the originators of major ideas, the driver of cultural change, the architect of most policies. If anything is going to change for the better, the people need to take action. With lobbying bringing in 3 to 4 billion dollars each year with the major contributors being big corporations and industry specific associations who rely on government policy to stay profitable, it is more important than ever for the people to be the change and fight for freedom.

Let’s start looking past the hype and see what is really driving these issues so that we can change things.
