“Do everything without grumbling and arguing.”-Philippinas 2:14
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as if you were working for the Lord, not men, since you know you will receive an inheritance.”-Colossians 3:23
When I started out in my faith in college, I had a very difficult time linking education and work to my faith. Over the years, I learned that everything we do is sacred as opposed to secular. God cares about everything we do, down to the smallest detail.
Work and life may seem insignificant and boring, and we can question whether we are on the right path. I suppose I had my own vision for what I wanted work and life to look like, and it didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. This has led to a lot of complaining and neglect in regards to work and responsibilities.
The Lord has taught me to think of everything I do as missionary work and to think of every place I go as a mission field. Every place we go and everything we do is to be done with the kingdom in mind. Everything is important, even the things that seem the most insignificant.
We bring glory to God by producing excellence and doing our work with joy. Although it is not always easy and may take a lot of practice, this is what we are called to do. Never complain and always be grateful.
I pray that this encourages you.
Phil
