“So God created mankind in his own image.”  -Gen. 1:27

The purpose of God creating the universe and everything in it was to display His glory.  Everything that exists in all of creation is meant to point towards his goodness.  This is the reason why every human being exists, to display the goodness of God.

God is a creator and created us to take on the same attributes as him.  Our lives are to be characterized by love, holiness, kindness, and compassion as seen in the person of Jesus.  One attribute of God that I never took to heart was that of being a creator myself.

The world does a great job of conditioning us into thinking a certain way.  As children, we used to dream and imagine all kinds of things, but as we become adults, that imagination slowly dies.  God has been moving in my heart to be a creator and not just a task doer.

Romans 12:2 says “Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.  Then you will be able to discern what God’s will is, his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”  The biggest obstacle for me has always been breaking my traditional pattern of thinking.  I firmly believe that God created each one of us uniquely and that each one of us plays a unique role in his redemptive plan.
